What is the Mmaxout Strength training program and what makes it the most beneficial addition to your workout program?  Our program focuses on fat loss, strength training, explosive power and muscle building.  Strength training is exercise that uses resistance to both strengthen as well as condition, improving muscle tone and endurance.  The benefits of consistent strength training include and increase in muscle size and tone, increased strength, and increases in tendon, bone and ligament strength.  Lifting weights has also been shown to improve psychological health as well, by increasing self esteem, confidence and self worth.  Not only does the Mmaxout strength program focus on strength training but we also incorporate a wide variety of kettle bell training:  the most popular form of weight training.

Anyone who has picked up a kettle bell has felt the difference between dumbbells, barbells and kettle bells.  The off centered weight of a KB recruits more stabilizer muscles and works targeted muscles through a wider range of motion.  It’s because of the off center design of the KB.  Isolation exercises such as those done with dumbbells and barbells do not hit those stabilizing muscles to the same degree.  Kettle bell training consists of whole body movement exercises.  It’s well known that compound, whole body movements typical of kettle bell exercises are superior to machines that isolate muscles for improving muscle tone, body composition and strength.  Further, kettle bells strengthen the tendons and ligaments, making the joints tougher and less-susceptible to injury.  
 
Another benefit of a good strength training program is its effect on our overall appearance and body composition.  This can directly influence self esteem, self worth and level of confidence.  Lifting weights is also important for preventing muscle loss that normally accompanies the aging process.  Our muscles have high-energy requirements.  Even when we are sleeping, our muscles use more than 25% of our energy (calories).  When you implement the principles of effective strength training and you are consistent in your program, you can actually condition your metabolism to work better and more efficiently even when you are at rest.  An increase in muscle tissue causes and increase in metabolic rate, and a decrease in muscle tissue causes a decrease in metabolic rate.

 

Our strength program also has added benefits for athletes.  One important results of strength training is increased physical performance.  Muscles quite literally utilize energy to produce movement, functioning as the engine or powerhouse of the body.  Strength training increase the muscles’ size, strength and endurance, which contribu to improvements in our work and general day to day activities.  This program also increases agility, balance and coordination.

WHAT ARE OPEN FLOOR AND TESTING CLASSES
OPEN FLOOR CLASSES:

With such high demand for classes, MMAXFIT has decided to add time slots to the schedule for ‘open floor’ for Strength classes.
Open floor offers opportunities for members who aren’t capable of making specific class times. Open floor is also ingenious for those who are self motivated and enjoy working out without an instructors motivation. So what exactly does open floor consist of? Simple. There will be specific workouts designated for those open floor classes. Workouts will be explained on the whiteboard and you have the capability to come in on your own and complete the designated workout during those specific times.
TEST CLASSES:

MmaxFit has now raised the bar for its elite members who show interest in excelling past their personal best.
Workouts will remain the same for a consecutive 4 weeks for both programs. Within those 4 weeks members have the capability to come in and test and try to beat their own personal best. Each time a member requests to be tested, during the time slots available, they will be monitored by an instructor and timed. Tests are a great way to improve strength and speed!
